FAQ: About Color Temperature (Kelvin)

Q1: What is color temperature (Kelvin)?

A1: Color temperature (Kelvin) is a numerical representation of the color of light, measured in Kelvins (K). The higher the color temperature, the bluer (or cooler) the light appears, while lower color temperatures result in a redder (or warmer) light.

Q2: How does the Kelvin rating affect car headlights and fog lights?

A2: Generally, 6000 Kelvin provides a bright, pure white light with high visibility. However, lights with a color temperature above 8000 Kelvin have a stronger blue tint, reducing practicality but increasing aesthetic appeal.

Q3: What is the relationship between vehicle inspection (MOT) and Kelvin rating?

A3: For vehicle inspections, lights with a blue tint often fail to pass. Therefore, a pure white light of 6000 Kelvin is recommended.

Q4: How can visibility be improved in rainy conditions?

A4: Using 3000 Kelvin yellow bulbs for fog lights can enhance visibility during rain, as they are more effective in penetrating moisture.

Q5: What should be considered when choosing a Kelvin rating?

A5: When selecting a Kelvin rating, it's important to consider appearance, safety, and visibility.

FAQ: Discoloration Inside the Bulb

Q: The glass inside the bulb has discolored. What does this mean?

A1-Relevant Product: This concerns bulbs that contain several types of metal halides within the lighting tube, which evaporate to produce light. However, some substances may not fully evaporate and can adhere to the inside of the lighting tube. If you notice discoloration, such as brown or white, this is a characteristic of HID bulbs and is not considered a defect. Please rest assured. If your issue is not resolved with the above information, please contact us through the inquiry form.

However, if the colors are extremely different, we will provide a replacement if it is within the warranty period after our confirmation. Please contact us for assistance.Additionally, differences in color between kits (set units) can occur due to individual bulb variations and manufacturing periods. Even bulbs with the same Kelvin rating may have slight color differences. Please understand that this is not considered a product defect and is not covered by the warranty. If your issue is not resolved with the above information, please contact us through the inquiry form.

FAQ: Newly Replaced Genuine Replacement Bulb Turns Off Shortly After Lighting

Q: I just replaced my bulb with a genuine replacement bulb, but it lights up and then turns off immediately. What should I do?

Relevant Product: Due to the characteristics of the genuine HID ballast, it may remember the specifications of the bulb that was previously installed. If a new HID bulb is installed while the ballast still retains the memory of the old bulb, it may not light up. This issue can occur not only with aftermarket HID bulbs but also with other genuine HID bulbs.

However, the ballast does not retain this memory indefinitely. If you wait for a while before installing the new bulb, it should light up without any issues. Please allow some time to pass and then conduct a lighting test again.

FAQ: Can D2R Bulbs Be Installed in Vehicles Equipped with D4R?

Q: Can I install D2R bulbs in a vehicle that is equipped with D4R bulbs?

Relevant Product: If your vehicle is equipped with genuine HID bulbs in the D4 configuration, you cannot install bulbs in the D2 configuration. There is no compatibility between D2 and D4 bulbs, so please be careful.

FAQ: The Necessity of Pre-Burning (Dry Burning) for Bulbs

Q: Is pre-burning (dry burning) necessary?

Relevant Product: Pre-burning is necessary when oil or moisture adheres to the glass tube of the bulb, as it can evaporate, causing smoke and heat. Before installation, please conduct a lighting check for about 3-5 minutes. Note that returns after electrification are not accepted, so please check the bulb shape and installation space before powering.

What is pre-burning (dry burning) when replacing with HID?

Pre-burning is essentially a "lighting check" performed before installing the bulb into the light unit. It's a precautionary step to ensure the bulb lights up properly.

Problems if pre-burning is not performed?

Not conducting a pre-burn can lead to two major issues: potential reinstallation labor and costs due to initial defects, and the risk of having to remove and reinstall the light unit immediately after installation due to product defects. Especially with low-cost HID kits, which may not undergo thorough inspection before shipment, pre-burning can save unnecessary labor and costs by verifying functionality beforehand.

Is pre-burning necessary for LED bulbs?

Pre-burning is not required for LED bulbs. However, it's still recommended to perform a lighting check before fully installing the unit to avoid any surprises.

Summary: Pre-burning is a crucial step for safely using HID bulbs, designed to prevent unnecessary reinstallation efforts and potential damage to the light unit. This practice is recommended not only for fcl. products but for all manufacturers to ensure a more enjoyable car life post-installation.
