Recon 1: A Clean Addition to the Build
Lucio also runs SUPAREE Recon 1 LED Pods as part of his lighting setup.
One of the things he appreciates most is how naturally the compact lights fit with the overall appearance of the truck.
"Those are a nice set of lights that tie in my roofrack nicely. They aren't that noticeable until you turn them on."

Installing the Recon 1: A DIY Learning Experience
One of the most memorable parts of the build wasn't the finished result.
It was the installation process.
Because of the way his Frontier is configured, Lucio needed to extend the Recon 1 wiring harness by approximately four feet on the driver side.
"I had to extend the harness by about 4 feet since it didn't reach from the driver side. I had to learn how to do that and how to crimp terminals."
Instead of seeing it as a problem, he treated it as an opportunity to learn.
The experience helped him develop new wiring skills and gave him a greater appreciation for the finished setup.
Learning the Hyper5 Backlight Wiring
The Hyper5 installation provided another learning experience.
Initially, Lucio wasn't sure how to power the backlight circuit.
Once he figured out the wiring, everything became much simpler.
"Once I figured it, it was easy. Just all part of learning."
Like many DIY vehicle projects, the process was part of the reward.
A Love for the Open Road
Adventure has always been part of Lucio's lifestyle.
In 2023, before installing any SUPAREE lighting, he and his wife embarked on a 17-day honeymoon road trip covering more than 6,000 miles across 13 states and 9 national parks.
The journey included approximately 127 hours of driving and remains one of their favorite memories.
"My wife and I had an incredible time exploring the country together, and that trip really reminded us how much we love traveling and creating memories along the way."
Today, with a baby at home, extended trips require more planning than before.
"For the most part daily driving but we do overland. With the baby it's hard to go somewhere and be away from everything. If it was up to me, I'll be doing it all."
The truck continues to serve both purposes: everyday transportation and future adventure platform.
Next Stop: Las Vegas
Lucio is already planning his next trip.
A future drive to Las Vegas should provide the perfect opportunity to further test the lighting system in dark desert conditions and on remote roads.
"Can't wait to really put the main lights to the test when I'm heading to Las Vegas."
For now, the Hyper5 and Recon 1 continue proving themselves during daily driving, while waiting for the next adventure.
