Why Won't My Jeep Fog Lights Turn On?

When it comes to owning a Jeep, everyone loves the thrill of the open road and the adventure of off-roading. Unfortunately, sometimes things don't go as planned, and one of the most common issues Jeep owners face is when their
fog lights won't turn on. There are a few different culprits that could be causing your Jeep’s fog lights to stay off, so make sure to take a few minutes to diagnose the issue before you take it to a mechanic.

  3. Check The Bulbs
  4. Check The Fuse

1. Check The Switch

If the switch itself isn’t functioning, then your Jeep wrangler fog lights won’t turn on no matter what. You can check the switch by turning it on and off a few times. If the switch won’t move, then it’s likely the culprit. You can buy a replacement switch from your local auto supply store or online.

2. Check The Wiring

If the wiring has become frayed or damaged in any way, then it could be preventing the fog lights from turning on. If you’re comfortable doing so, you can open up the dash and look for any signs of damage. If you don’t know how to do this, you should take your Jeep to a mechanic to have them inspect the wiring for you.

3. Check The Bulbs

If the bulbs are burnt out, then your fog lights won’t turn on. To check the bulbs, you can take a look at them with a flashlight and see if they’re still working. If they’re not, you can buy new bulbs from your local auto supply store or online.

4. Check The Fuse

If the fuse that controls the fog lights has blown, then the fog lights won’t turn on. You can check the fuse by looking in the fuse box, which is usually located under the dashboard. If the fuse is blown, you can replace a new set of Jeep fog lights assembly.
